International Animation Festival 23 - 29.09.2024
The legendary Emile Awards were presented last night in Hermoupolis, kicking off this year's ANIMASYROS 2024 powered by PPC!

On the evening of Monday, September 23, the legendary European animation awards, the Emile Awards, were presented in the emblematic Apollon Theater in Ermoupoli. After a brief hiatus, the awards were revived and came to Greece for the first time, opening the 17th edition of ANIMASYROS 2024 powered by PPC. The event was attended by distinguished guests, creators from around the world, renowned audiovisual industry professionals, and animation fans. The ceremony was broadcast online and watched by thousands of viewers from Europe and around the world.

At the end of the event, Nancy Denney-Phelps, journalist and animation historian, together with the members of the Emile Awards board present in Syros - Olivier Catherin, Holger Lang, Kerdi Oengo, and Vassilis C. Karamitsanis - presented the traditional Lotte Reiniger Lifetime Achievement Award to the esteemed Estonian cartoonist, director, and educator Priit Pärn.

The grand celebration of European animation returned once again to honor the best films of the year, celebrate the talent and achievements of creators and professionals from more than 30 countries, and highlight the diversity and creativity of the large European animation community.
